Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Donald F. Longuil of Bennington passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., Mr. Longuil spent much of his adult life in Syracuse, N.Y., before relocating to the Bennington area two years ago.

Donald is the beloved father of daughters Roberta (Russell) Brown of League City, Texas, and Jean (Mitchell) Frank of Shaftsbury; grandfather of Taga Cox, Rusty Brown, Bradley and Kyle Frank; and great-grandfather of Macy Fulton. Donald is also survived by his brother, Richard Longuil of Brasher Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Janet Downie of Springwater, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (nee Sanderson).

Mr. Longuil was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for more than 30 years as a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. At the time of his death he was employed by Carmody’s Restaurant in Bennington.

Mr. Longuil was an active member of the American Legion, the National Arbor Day Foundation, and before his relocation, the Valley Men’s Club and the Central New York Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.

Funeral arrangements are being made through Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home in Syracuse.
