ARLINGTON -- Funeral services for Donald J. and Joyce (Bentley) Keeler were held on Saturday afternoon Dec. 22 at The Federated Church of East Arlington.

Conducting the service was church pastor, the Rev. Kathleen Clark. The organist was Sara Crohn, who offered an old family favorite “Oh Where Shall Rest Be Found” as the hymn of meditation, and accompanied the congregation in singing “Nearer My God To Thee.”

The prelude and postlude consisted of a medley of old-time piano selections.

The eulogy was given by a nephew, Paul Cameron; poems were shared by a son-in-law, George Drew. Serving as bearers were grandsons Ryan Thompson, Chet Stothers and Randall Drew.

Burial followed in the Bentley family lot in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Clark offering the committal prayers.

Military honors were accorded to Mr. Keeler by members of the United States Navy under direction of PS1 Kimberly Carr, who presented the American flag to Mr. Keeler’s son, Richard. Taps were sounded by HM2 Alba Bermeo.

Mr. Keeler died March 4, 2005, at the age of 83. Mrs. Keeler died Oct. 15, 2007. She was 81.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington.
