Donald F. Kupiec 1942-2011 CAMBRIDGE Donald F. Kupiec, 69, of Shunpike Road, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Albany Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl McMillan Kupiec. Born Thursday, January 15, 1942 in Adams, he was the son of the late Frank and Doris Kittler Kupiec. In 1960, shortly before high school graduation, Don joined the United States Marines and served for four years. When he returned home, he met the love of his life. He and Cheryl were married on May 27, 1966. They spent their first year of married life in Adams and then moved to her home town of Cambridge. Don worked for 30 years at Bennington Paper Board. In 1995, he went to work at Cambridge Central School where he worked as a custodian until his retirement in 2007. He liked hunting, fishing and going to tractor pulls. A great gardener, he was already planning next year's flowers. Don loved spending time with his seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Dana, Nathan, Austin, Clayton, Brigid and Erik. Along with his wife of 45 years and grandchildren, he is survived by three sons, Thomas J.Kupiec and Donald J. Kupiec, both of Cambridge and Dennis W. Kupiec and wife Megghan of Fort Ann; two daughters, Karen Gill and husband Peter and Cynthia Van Avery and husband Kevin all of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; a sister, Janet Voiles of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Bruce Kupiec of Savoy, and Peter Kupiec of Mohawk, N.Y.; in-laws, Jack and Kim McMillan of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge.
