Donna Mae Taft 1943 - 2011 MANCHESTER, VT Donna Mae Taft, resident of Wideawake Road in Manchester passed away on Nov. 6, 2011, at the Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend. Donna was surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Bennington on July 31, 1943, daughter of the late Lillian Jepson Harrington and Edgar Harrington. Donna received her education at Shaftsbury Elementary School and was a graduate of North Bennington High School in the class of 1962. Donna married Chester Taft at the Shaftsbury Methodist Church on June 8, 1963. She previously worked at the Orvis Company and Union Carbide prior to opening The Bonnet Street Bouquet flower shop. There she displayed her artistic ability making arrangements until her retirement in 2002. Donna was an avid golf player and loved to go on cruises, watch stock car races, and cook for her family. One of her favorite past times was going to the casino with her husband and sister-in-law. Survivors include her husband, Chester Taft; daughters, Calla Norse and Lynda (Rick) Gale; granddaughters, Kyleen Norse and Mia Gale; sisters, Mary Palmer of Bennington, Florence "Flossie"(Bob) Nolan of N. Bennington, brother, Charles Harrington (Candy) of Crown Point, NY; sisters-in-law, Sally Taft and Mary Taft, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Jeanne Mattison and Mildred Harris, and brother, Milton Harrington. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Donna will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at 7 p.m. at BREWSTER FUNERAL SERVICE, 34 Park Place Manchester, VT. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, from 5-7pm, two hours prior to the service, when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Donna's name may be made to the Grace Cottage Hospital or the , c/o Brewster Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester, Vermont 05255.
