Donna M. Harris

BENNINGTON -- Donna Marie Harris, 57, a resident of Brookside Apartments on South Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 11, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Harris was born in Bennington on Oct. 1, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Mary Ann (Stockwell) Harrington. She grew up in Bennington where she attended local schools.

She was married to Louis E. Harris, who died Dec. 31, 1976. They had resided in Pownal and Bennington for many years. Mrs. Harris had worked at the former Pownal Tanning Company, the Cambridge [N.Y.] mushroom farm and at Price Chopper Supermarket for many years.

She enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition she liked to spend time playing Bingo, visiting casinos and collecting stuffed animals.

She leaves two daughters, Andrea Inman of Kingsport, Tenn., and Angela Harris-Amell of Pineyflats, Tenn.; two brothers, Gary Harrington of Worcester and Robert Harrington of Clifton Park, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother James Harrington in 1994.

Graveside funeral services will take place on Friday morning, June 17 at 11 in the Harris family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Lebert, pastor of Harvest Christian Ministries.

There are no calling hours.
