Doris E. Boutin 1924-2012 BENNINGTON Doris E. Boutin, 87, widow of Louis O. Boutin, a resident of Maple Street in Bennington died Wednesday March 7, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness. Born in Woodford, Vt., on October 3, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Margaret ( Foster) Smith. Doris received her education in Bennington and East Greenbush, N.Y. Mr. and Mrs. Boutin were married on November 17, 1945 at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. Mr. Boutin died June 5, 2007 In earlier years Mrs. Boutin was employed at Grand Union and Tansitor Electronics. Later she was employed at the Union Carbide Corporation until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Boutin was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church and a member of St. Anne's Society there. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, R.S.V.P. and the Bennington Senior Center. She enjoyed volunteering, traveling and playing Bingo. Survivors include nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Boutin, two sisters, Irene Barbeau and Ruth Corellis and four brothers, Richard Rumbolt, Earl Smith, Richard Smith and Fred Smith. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday March 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis at 11 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel. The burial will take place in the family lot in the Woodford Cemetery in the Spring. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mrs. Boutin may be made to either Sacred Heart School or the Vermont Veterans Home Activities Fund through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
