Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Doris Dora Blodgett, 83, widow of Carl R. Blodgett, a resident of Bennington Drive, Montpelier, and a former resident of Lazy Lane, Pownal, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

Born in Bennington, June 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Edward King and Ivy (Kelly) King Hollister. She received her education in the Bennington schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Blodgett were married in Brattleboro, on Dec. 20, 1952. Mr. Blodgett died June 15, 2001.

In earlier years she was employed at the BenMont Paper Company and Bennington Brush Company.

Her home and family were her main interest. She enjoyed collecting antiques, cooking for her family and sewing.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, William J. and Vanessa Blodgett of Montpelier; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Carbonti of Arlington; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Blodgett was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Thompson: three sons, James Williams, Earl Williams and Harold Williams; a brother, Joseph King; and three sisters, Mae Stratton, Loretta Harrington and Hazel Carbonti.

At Mrs. Blodgett’s request there will be not be any funeral services held.

Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
