Doris M. Quinlan

1932 - 2016 BENNINGTON VT Doris M. (Trudeau) Quinlan died peacefully on October 8th, 2016. Doris was born August 13, 1932 in Chicopee Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Rosabelle (Tetreault) Trudeau. Her husband of 60 years, Edward (Ted) Quinlan predeceased her January 18, 2013. Doris grew up in Chicopee and graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield MA. She later attended Fordham University's School of Pharmacy where she met the love of her life. Doris and Ted were married on December 27, 1952 at St. George Church in Chicopee. Soon after marriage, they moved to Bennington where Ted took over as a third generation pharmacist operating Quinlan's Rexall Drug Store. It was then, that Doris began her career as a loving and supportive mother to her six children; Karen (Harold) LaMontagne of Keene NH, Mark (Lisa) Quinlan of South Burlington VT, Beth-Anne Quinlan of Sunderland VT, Daniel (Gudrun) Quinlan of Jericho VT, Brian (Mary Jo) Quinlan of Deep Gap NC and Trude Mann of Hoosick Falls, NY. As the children grew older, Doris looked for new challenges outside of the home. She worked at various retail establishments in Bennington, among them Treet Cleaners, Kids Sample Store and Evans News'. She was happy to see her regular clientele and always greeted them with a warm smile and kind words. She made many friends in the community over the years. She will be dearly missed by her six children, eleven grand-children, eight great grand-children, nieces, nephews and close friends. Doris was pre-deceased by three brothers; Rolland, Henry and Armand Trudeau. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Saturday, October 22, at 10:30 a.m. The family will be available to greet friends an hour before the service. Graveside committal services will be held immediately following the mass at the Park Lawn Cemetery.
