Dorothy J. Blodgett

1934 - 2015 NORTH BENNINGTON Mrs. Dorothy J. Blodgett, 80, widow of William G. Blodgett, a resident of Garbrooke Drive in Bennington died Thursday Feb. 26, at her residence Born in Bennington, Dec. 10, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Irene (Parker) Gauthier. She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of the former Bennington High School class of 1953. Mr. & Mrs. Blodgett were married in Bennington on July 7, 1972. Mr. Blodgett died October 4, 2000. Mrs. Blodgett was employed for thirty-five years at Eveready Battery until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose and the American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary. Survivors include seven sons, Keith Parizo of Washington, Mark Parizo of Bennington, Kevin Cameron of Brattleboro, Robert Blodgett of Island Pond, Vt., Kurt Blodgett of Washington, Grant Blodgett and Carl Blodgett both of Chesterfield, Va.; two daughters, Holly Blodgett of Washington and Billy Prier of Chesterfield, Va.; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Conrad "Chip' Parizo; a sister, Geraldine Racicot; and a brother, Richard Gauthier FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Wednesday March 4 at 11 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. At the request of Mrs. Blodgett there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. John's Cemetery in North Bennington. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mrs. Blodgett may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the MAHAR SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
