Dorothy Danio Obituary
Dorothy Danio

1924 - 2014 CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. On Nov. 21, 2014 Dorothy Marjorie LeBarron Danio gently passed from the hands of her loving family to the hands of the Lord. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Cambridge, N.Y. She was born Aug. 2, 1924 to Henry and Daisy (Granger) LeBarron. She was the thirteenth child of their large family. She married Hayden K. Danio on October 3, 1942. Mr. Danio predeceased her on May 31, 2006. They lived in Cambridge all their lives raising their six children. Dotty, as she liked to be called, loved life and people. She was always ready for a good laugh and a quick joke. Another nickname that was given to her by her children was "Daytona Dot". She tended to be a little heavy footed on the gas pedal. She was always so busy running her children around to their various activities. Her love of people was represented by the fact that she was a waitress for over 50 years! She spent a lot of her early years waitressing at the Hotel Cambridge. She went on to waitress at other establishments over the years finishing out her career at Geannelis' Restaurant in Bennington, Vt. She retired at the age of 72 but missed waitressing every day thereafter. Dotty was educated in the Cambridge School District and excelled at her studies. Dotty loved taking care of her family. She also loved doing crafts, volunteering, being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and keeping her home spotless. People often asked her how she did it. Dotty also loved Dean Martin. Everything stopped when the Dean Martin Show came on television. For her 85th birthday, her family surprised her with a party at the Hotel Cambridge. The highlight of the party came when a Dean Martin impersonator, which her daughter Brenda found, walked into the room. Once again everything came to a stop as she listened to "Dean" serenade her. Dotty is survived by her six children; Yvonne Danio of Cambridge, Darlene Barry (Dennis) of Bennington, Gary Danio of Cambridge, Douglas Danio of Shushan, Deborah Severson (Mark) of Cambridge, and Brenda Danio of Hudson Falls. Dotty is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Margaret Danio. Dotty also leaves eight grandchildren; Shawn Danio, Jolene Bauscher, Jason Barry, Dr. Jessica Barry, Jenna Barry, Gregory Danio, Margie Danio, and Danielle Danio. To complete her family Dotty also leaves six great-grandchildren; Elijah Danio, Hailey & Hayden Bauscher, Shania Danio, Caden Danio, and Makayla Barry. Dotty was predeceased by her siblings, Harvey, Ownie, Robert, Edward, Violet, Bessie, Helen, and Flossie. She was also predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Pamela Danio.
