NORTH HOOSICK, N.Y. -- Dorothy Evelyn Bouplon, better known as “Dottie,” died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, where she had been a resident for 15 months. She was the widow of Stephen A. Bouplon Jr., who died in 1991.

From a family of 11 children, Dottie was born Monday, March 19, 1917 in Ash Grove (town of White Creek). She was the daughter of John and Lilly Gates Coon. She received her education in the local schools. In 1938, she married Stephen.

A resident of North Hoosick since 1936, Dottie worked for and retired from Flomatic Corp.

She was a member of the North Hoosick Methodist Church.

Dottie loved the outdoors. She was a hunter, liked snowmobiling and owned and cared for harness racehorses for 30 years. A son, Wayne Bouplon, and a grandson, Stephen G. Bouplon, died before her.

Surivors include two sons, Gary G. Bouplon of Marinette, Wis. and Ronald L. Bouplon of Cambridge; a brother, Raymond “Ed” Coon Sr. of Eagle Bridge; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Dottie’s wishes, the services will be private.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the North Hoosick Fire Company, North Hoosick, NY 12133 or Hoosick Falls Health Center, 21 Danforth St., Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.

Dottie will be remembered for her fun loving sense of humor and the big smile she had for everyone.
