BENNINGTON -- The burial office with Holy Eucharist for Mrs. Dorothy Sweet Granger was celebrated at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Monday afternoon. Officiating was the Rev. Anita Schell-Lambert. Assisting the pastor was the Rev. Penny Hawkins. The lector was Donna Maroney, the epistoler was Colleen Gates, the crucifer and chalicist was Emily Kennedy, and Margo Fletcher offered the prayers of the people. The oblation bearers and ushers were Ted Doucette and Donna Maroney. Music for the service was under the direction of organist Randall Krum, who led the congregation in singing, “The Strife is O’er,” “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” and “Ye Holy Angels Bright.” Serving as bearers were Ronald Brillon, Gerald Brillon, Terry Granger, Ronald Myers, Edward Shea and Robert Long.

Burial with committal prayers took place in the Granger family lot in Woodford Cemetery with the Revs. Schell-Lambert and Margo Fletcher officiating. A memorial reception followed in the church hall.

Mrs. Granger, 101, a resident of Woodford and Bennington, died April 21 at Twin Maples Community Care Home on Gage Street, where she made many wonderful friends, in particular Sarah Davenport, who became like family to her.

Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.
