Dorothy Ann Sculley Waite

1937-2014 MANCHESTER CENTER, VT Dorothy Ann Sculley Waite, a resident of Manchester, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness. Dorothy was born on Oct. 20, 1937 at Putnam Memorial Hospital to the late Edward D. Sculley and Bertha (Keough) Sculley of Arlington, Vt. Dorothy received her education in the Arlington School System and resided in Arlington until 2009. She married the late Donald R. Waite on July 22, 1956. She worked at various restaurants in the area over the years, her favorite being The Quality Restaurant for the Comar family in the 1960's. In her later life, she worked for 16 years at Arlington Industries. Her greatest joy was her children and being a part of their lives. She is survived by her six children, Edward R. Waite of Greenwich, Conn. and Manchester, Vt., Donald J. Waite and wife Kimberly of Benton, Maine, Debra A. Waite of Bennington, Vt., Michael K. Waite of Meriden, Conn., Virginia Waite-Hosley and her husband Randy of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and John P. Waite and fiance Melissa Merrill of North Walpole, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Ericka, Allyson, M.J., Josh, Kayla, Amber, Scott, Jack and Misty; seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Abbie, Mia, Stella, Bree, Shane and Landon. Dorothy loved animals, especially dogs. She is also survived by her beloved West Highland Terrier, Chelsea. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Friday January 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at BREWSTER SHEA FUNERAL SERVICE, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center, Vt. Interment will follow in St. Columbans Cemetery in Arlington. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday evening, January 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
