Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A Mass of Christian death and burial was offered for Dorothy Warner on Monday morning, Aug. 2, at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington, with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor, officiating. The pall was placed on the casket by Mrs. Warner’s three children, Carol Doran, William Warner and John Warner. The wooden cross was placed on the casket by her son John. Assisting at the Mass were Mr. Leonard Anzivino, Mr. Valmore Clifford, Mr. Gerald Amadon, and Mr. Bernard Bourgeois. The Old Testament scripture was read by Mrs. Warner’s granddaughter Leslie, and the New Testament scripture was read by her granddaughter Dana.

Pall bearers for the services were Gene Warner, Charles Hicks, Norm Robinson, Jim Glover and Marc Folino.

Interment took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, with Father Coppola offering the prayers of committal .

A time of fellowship followed the services at the home of close friends. Prior to the Mass, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home during the prayer services, Mrs. Warner’s granddaughter Kelsie offered a poem she had written as a tribute to her grandmother. Mrs. Dorothy M. (Davis) Warner, 94, a resident of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and former longtime resident of Bennington, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the Emerald Health Care Center in Port St. Lucie.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington.
