GRANVILLE, N.Y. -- Douglas T. Hall, 90, a resident of Raceville, N.Y., passed away on Sunday evening, July 9, 2006, at home with his wife by his side.

Doug was born in North Bennington, Vt., on Feb. 29, 1916, the son of Stewart and Alice (Mehan) Hall. He received his education in the North Bennington schools.

Mr. Hall married Florence Lee on June 28, 1941, in her family home, the 1880 House in North Bend, N.Y.

In his younger years, Doug was employed by The Wellings Estate in North Bennington. Later he and Florence moved to Granville, where Doug was employed at various farms, Races Grist Mill and, lastly, by the Washington County Highway Department.

Five brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews predeceased Doug.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; sister-in-law Viola Matteson; many nieces and nephews, including beloved nieces Vicki Matteson of Rutland, Vt., and Laura Doda of Pompano Beach, Fla., nephews Glenn Matteson and his wife, Kristine, of Fort Edward, N.Y., and William Gresser and wife, Sandy, of East Greenbush, N.Y.; and friends Kenneth and Nancy Williams and Donald and Barbara Levesque.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Mettowee Cemetery in Granville.
