The Rev. Thomas Truscott conducted the service. Music was under the direction of organist Doug Bischoff who led the congregation in the singing of the hymn “Amazing Grace” and played musical selections “How Great Thou Art” and “Danny Boy” on compact disc.

Tina Griffis offered the first scripture reading, Psalm 23, and Brenda Norton offered the poem “We Couldn’t Know” and “A Note From Colleen,” Dudley’s sister.

Words of remembrance were offered by family and friends, and “The Shooting of Dan McGrew” was read by Arnold Griffis and Chuck Dunham.

Upon exiting the church, an honor guard was formed of members of both the Manchester and Arlington Fire Departments and pall bearers. Dudley’s family and friends were given a gold balloon for a balloon release held in Dudley’s memory.

Serving as honorary pall bearers were Arnold Griffis, Thomas Griffis, Butch Griffis, Jonathan Beck, Connor Beck, John Balch, John Cisco and Elmer Cary III.
