BENNINGTON -- Mr. Earl F. Tripp, 84, a former resident of Chapel Road, Bennington, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Born in Bennington June 14, 1919 he was the son of the late Mordicia and Cassie (Wood) Tripp. He received his education in Bennington and was a graduate of the former Bennington High School. Mr. Tripp was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Mr. Tripp married the former Ruth Wilkins in Bennington. Mrs. Tripp died Dec. 24, 2002.

In earlier years Mr. Tripp was employed at Empire Market in Bennington and later at the BenMont Paper Co.

He was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1861 and also various offices on the state level. Mr. Tripp was also a member of American Legion Post 13.

He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosanne C. Beauchamp of Richmond, Mass. and Patricia L. Zukowsky of Windsor Locks, Conn.; a son, Eugene P. Tripp of Newport, R.I.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Prentiss of Bennington; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. Mr. Tripp was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Raymond and Howard Tripp, Hazel Gorman, Mildred Phillips, Gladys Knapp and Sarah Tripp.

The funeral will be held from All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington on Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 at 12 p.m.

Friends may call at All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will take place at the Vermont Veterans War Memorial Cemetery in Bennington.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Tripp may be made to the Activities Fund at the Vermont Veterans Home through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.

All members of the following organizations are asked to meet at the Vermont Veterans Home Friday morning to conduct services in memory of Mr. Tripp: Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1861 at 11 a.m. and American Legion Post 13 at 11:30 a.m.
