Obituary Condolences

SHUSHAN, N.Y. -- Earl Francis LaBombard, 75, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at the Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness.

He was born Jan. 24, 1929 in Hartford, the son of the late Edward and Amelia (Aubin) LaBombard.

Earl had been employed for several years at Hale Furniture in East Arlington, Vt., the town of Jackson and Finch Pruyn and Co. Inc. in Glens Falls.

His hobbies included doing word search puzzles, tinkering in the backyard, sitting on the porch watching Shushan go by, and most of all he enjoyed driving his mustard-colored pickup truck to the recycling center once a week.

Earl was especially devoted to his wife and family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Emma Priest and Jeannette Blodgett; one brother, Ernest LaBombard; and one half-brother, Alfred Aubin.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Vivian (Langlois) LaBombard of Shushan; three children, Joyce Dupuis and her husband John of Salem, Wayne LaBombard and his wife Donna of Cambridge and Nancy LaBombard of Arlington, Vt.; one sister, Doris Ayers of Salem; seven grandchildren, Kama, Kristy, Zachary and Brienne Dupuis and Marcus, Jodie and Skyler LaBombard; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Salem United Methodist Church on West Broadway.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. following calling hours at the church, with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 959 Route 9 Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804 or to the Lupus Foundation of America, 790 Watervliet Road, Latham, NY 12110.

Arrangements are by the McClellan Funeral Service, Salem.
