Earl "Norm" Weeks 1929 - 2012 BENNINGTON, VT Earl H. "Norm" Weeks, a resident of White Birches Mobile Home Park in Bennington, died on Saturday morning, April 28, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness. Mr. Weeks was born in Bennington on May 14, 1929, and was the son of the late Earl and Rachel (Brin) Weeks. He received his education in local schools. He served in the Army during the Korean War. On Dec. 23, 1964, he married the former Dorothy Percey in Hoosick Falls, NY. Mrs. Weeks survives. Norm had been employed at the former Union-Carbide plant in Bennington, and was a ticket window operator at the former Pownal Racetrack. He had also worked as a car transporter for local car dealerships. He was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge #567, and the American Legion Post #13 of Bennington. Norm was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. Survivors besides his wife include his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Pistolas, and his son, Kevin Weeks. Norm has two sisters, Paryse Fracasso of Hartford, CT and Simone Coyne of Bennington. He leaves two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-great-nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Bow and Susan Cathcart, who just passed away on April 17, 2012. He was also predeceased by his brother, Albert Weeks. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington at 12 PM. Interment with military honors will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 11 AM until the time of the service.
