Obituary Condolences

NORTH BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Earlon Ike Rackliffe were held Thursday Jan. 5, 2006, at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.

The Rev. Leo Hourihan conducted the service. Those in attendance listened to the hymns “How Great Thou Art,” “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Amazing Grace.” The Rev. Hourihan offered scripture readings and a personal eulogy. Members from Tucker Lodge Free & AM, North Bennington, conducted the Masonic funeral service. Interment, with military honors, followed in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemeter, where the Rev. Hourihan offered burial rites and committal prayers. Color guard members from the Army National Guard in Rutland included flag folders Sgt. Carvey and Sgt. Whitcomb. Taps was sounded by Spc. Pagan. The flag that draped the veteran’s casket was presented to Mr. Rackliffe’s wife, Blanche, by Sgt. Carvey. Serving as pallbearers were Mark, Brett, Bernard and Hollis Rackliffe, Roger Winnicki and Philip Farrington.

Earlon Ike Rackliffe, a resident of Overlea Road, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Arrangements were under the care of Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 213 West Main St., Bennington.
