Edith S. Dewey
1929-2009 BENNINGTON Edith Dewey passed away Christmas Eve, 2009, after a short illness.
She and her husband, Richard Jolivette, were residents of Mariposa for the past five years. Mrs. Dewey had previously lived in Ventura, Calif., where she worked for many years for the accounting firm of Wolfe, Emch and Crowley.
Edith was born and raised near Bennington. After graduating from Bennington High School with the Class of 1947, she married Charles H. Dewey. Living for brief periods in North Carolina and again in Vermont, the family eventually moved to California in search of educational opportunities for their son.
She leaves her husband, Richard Jolivette, of Mariposa, Calif.; her son, John G. Dewey, and his wife, Rhonda, of Ahwahnee, Calif.; her grandchildren, Rhiannon Dewey, Paul Williamson and Jason Williamson; her great- grandchildren, Owen Williamson and Maya Williamson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Dewey, who passed away in California.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A service of remembrance will be held at THE MARIPOSA FUNERAL HOME in California on January 9.
