Edmond Buxbaum 1929 - 2008 NORTH BENNINGTON Edmond Donald Buxbaum, a resident of Marco Island, Fla., passed away at the Village at Waterman Lake in Rhode Island after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 16, 1929, son of Jerome Wolfe Buxbaum and Edythe Michaels Buxbaum Oefner, he was a 1951 graduate of North Bennington High School. He earned his G.E.D. while in the Navy. Both Eddie and his twin brother, Larry, joined the Navy in Bennington in 1946. During his 22 years in the Navy, Eddie traveled extensively around the world, retiring in June 1968 as chief petty officer. After retirement, he and his wife, the former Dorothy Viera of Providence, R.I., whom he married in 1954, made their home in Rhode Island, where he worked for the State of Rhode Island as an electrician, retiring again, and moved to Florida where they built their home on the water of Marco Island. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Edmond Jr. of Rehoboth, Mass.; a daughter, Donna of East Providence, R.I.; a daughter, Joan LaRochelle of Harrisville, R.I.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his twin brother of Vinton, La., and a sister-in-law, Barbara Vail Buxbaum of Shaftsbury. He was predeceased by another brother, Sanford, in 1991. His burial was private in Rhode Island.
