Edna G. Crandall 1918-2011 BENNINGTON Edna G. Crandall, 92, widow of Kenneth W. Crandall, a resident of Northside Drive, Bennington, died Wednesday, February 24, 2011 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation following a long illness. Born in South Norwalk, Connecticut July 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Isabelle (Gilbert) Teal. Edna received her education in the Cohoes, New York schools. Ken and Edna were married on September 10, 1936 at St. Patrick's Church in Cambridge, New York. Ken died August 4, 2006. In earlier years Edna was employed as a housekeeper by the John McCullough family in North Bennington. She later worked at the Thomson Manufacturing Company until the time of her retirement. A former member of the North Bennington Fire Department Auxillary, she enjoyed crocheting and was an ardent Bingo player. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine E. Loveland of Bennington; two granddaughters, Eddi-Lynn Loveland of Bennington and Dianne R. (Lonnie) Longe of Hoosick Falls, New York; two special great-grandsons, William Martelle II and Daniel Scott Martell and a great-great-granddaughter, Trinity Martelle, all of Wells; a sister, Dorothy DeWolfe of Troy, New York; a special niece, Dottie Lavigne of Tennessee; a step-great-grandson , Cody Longe and two special little boys, Aiden and Hunter Longe, all of Hoosick Falls and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna is also survived by a dear friend and caregiver for the last four years, Margaret Doucette of Bennington and by her former son-in-law, Edward Loveland of North Bennington. Last but not least, she will be missed by her dog Sparky. Edna was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Crandall who died on May 2, 1982, and also by four sisters and a brother. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring at the family lot in St. Johns Cemetery in North Bennington. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Edna G.
