Edward J. Cross 1949 - 2009 ARLINGTON Edward Joseph Cross, 59, of Shepard Lane passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his family. Edward was born at home in Sunderland on Nov. 25, 1949, the son of Bernard and Hazel Hall Cross, and attended local schools. Edward was a veteran of the Viet Nam era serving in the Army. Edward owned and operated Vermont Pool Services and previously worked for the Hale Company in Arlington. In his teen- age years, he worked for Everett Randall mowing fields. Edward enjoyed watching NASCAR on TV and was a big Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. He enjoyed hunting, camping, old country music and reading Stephen King novels. He cherished times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and his wife and soulmate, Lee. Edward leaves his wife, the former Lee Mason of Arlington; his son, Christopher M. Cross and his wife, Tara, of Mt. Holly; his brothers, Bernard Cross and his wife and Edward's favorite sister-in-law, Lisa, of Manchester, Anthony Cross and his wife, Billie-Jean, of Manchester, N.H.; his sisters, Bernice Gaudette of Arlington, Mary McKeighan of Shaftsbury, Diane Jennings of Arlington, Sharon Allaire of Sunderland; his grandchildren, Brett and Codie Allison Cross, and his half brothers, Raymond and George Cross of Massachusetts, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.. He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Cross; by his sisters, Judy Sherman who died Dec. 7, 2008, and Claudia Christman who died Jan. 19, 2009, and by his half-brothers, Harold and Thomas Cross. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Edward will be Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the family lot in Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. Visiting hours will be Friday May 29, 2009, at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME Arlington Chapel Rt 7A, Arlington, from 3 to 6 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
