Edward J. Folan 1922 - 2008 BENNINGTON Edward J. Folan, 85, of Pine Road died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, following a long illness. Born in Canajoharie, N.Y., on July 29, 1922, son of James and Ada Golden Folan, he received his education in Canajoharie and was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. He later attended Albany Business College. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Folan was stationed in the Allusions. In earlier years, Mr. Folan had been employed by the FBI. He later worked as a finger print expert for the Department of Corrections in Albany, N.Y., and, at the time of his retirement, was the assistant director of the Department of Criminal Justice in Albany. He enjoyed biking, walking and taking day trips to the beach. He loved to go to Maine. He and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoyed taking their two grandsons on these different trips. He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth Sheridan, whom he married July 2, 1951 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Troy, N.Y. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter and her husband, Marianne and Stephen Nelson of Willamstown, Mass.; two grandsons, Thomas Nelson of Williamstown, and Nicolas Nelson of Burlington; two cousins, Mary McGuire of Albany, N.Y., and Jack Montanye of Anaheim, Calif. FUNERAL NOTICE: At the request of the family there will be no calling hours or funeral services. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Edward J.
