Edward B. Keough

1928 - 2013 Edward "Ed" B. Keough, 84, formerly of Bennington, Vermont passed away quietly on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home in Columbus, NC surrounded by loved ones. Edward was born on December 31, 1928 in Bennington, Vermont to John E. Keough and Agnes (Barrett) Keough. He graduated from North Bennington High School in 1947. Edward attended the University of Vermont and was a graduate of Albany Business College. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Korean Conflict. On August 9, 1952 Edward married for former Grace M. Johnson. He was employed in the printing industry for many years and went on to serve as the Treasurer for the town of Bennington and the Bennington School District. Upon his retirement in 1982 he and Grace moved to North Carolina. Ed was a talented artist, musician and recreational pilot. He will be remembered for his quick wit and cartooning skills as well as his love for art, music, literature, nature, his many friends and his loving family. Edward is survived by Grace, his wife of 61 years, his daughters Connie Keough Prendergast and Dawn Keough-Schmidt and his grandsons and their spouses, Michael Prendergast and Katie (Roessler) Prendergast, Daniel B. Schmidt and Laura (Tangen) Schmidt and James B. Schmidt.
