Edward P. Foster 1928 - 2009 EAST ARLINGTON Mr. Edward P. Foster, 80, a former resident of Bacon Hollow Road in East Arlington, Vt., died Monday April 20, 2009 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington following a brief illness. He was born in Hoosick, N.Y., July 3, 1928. He was the son of the late Daniel and Margaret Mylott Foster. He received his education in East Arlington. Mr. Foster served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, Korea and Vietnam, where he served as a steam engineer. For several years Ed was employed as a caretaker by Wells Real Estate in Manchester, Vt. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington, Vt. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his dog. He leaves a brother Robert Foster Sr. of Newport, Vt., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday April 23, 2009 at 1 p.m at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington, VT. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mr. Edward P. Foster may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201
