1951-2014 Eileen Bishop, 62, a resident of Murphy Road, North Bennington, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at The Albany Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in North Bennington on May 22, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Amos Bishop Jr. and Gertrude L. Bishop who survives. Eileen received her education in the Bennington schools. At the time of her passing she was employed at Plasan Carbon Composites in Bennington. Survivors include two sons and their spouses; Timothy and Allison Bishop of Bennington and Garth and Kayla Griffis of North Bennington; three grandchildren who were her world, Brittany, Kylie and Tyler, all of Bennington; three sisters Sylvia Jordan of Florida, Debra Davenport of Bennington and Loraine Strohmaier of Bennington; three brothers, Bruce Bishop of Bennington, James Legacy of Pennsylvania and Edward Legacy of Shaftsbury; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eileen was predeceased by a brother, George Legacy. Eileen was an avid Nascar fan. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing the slots at the Saratoga Racino, making doll clothes for her granddaughters, yard work and loved being outside as a whole. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Eileen Bishop will be held at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Robin Greene officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Eileen Bishop's memory may be made to either the Vermont Chapter of the or to the Mahar & Son Funeral Home where the donations will be given to Eileen's granddaughter to assist in Kylie's battle against the disease Primary Cystic Dyskinesia (PCD).
