Eileen T. Palmer 1929 - 2011 BENNINGTON Eileen T. Palmer, 81, a resident of Lyons St., died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a long illness. Born in Proctor, on Sept. 16, 1929, she was the daughter of James Matthew Keith and Katherine Timbers Keith. She received her education in Pittsford and was a graduate of Pittsford High School. While in high school she was a member of the softball team and later played women's softball in Rutland. In earlier years, Eileen was employed at the Union Carbide Corp. until she stopped working to raise her family. She enjoyed needlepoint and cross stitching. Her home and family were her main interest. She leaves her husband of 59 years, William F. Palmer, whom she married on Jan. 19, 1952, in Pittsford; a son, Michael W. Palmer and his wife, Jael, of Bennington; a daughter, Debra Blanchard and her husband, Nelson, of Bennington; six grandchildren, Jodi Beaudoin and her husband, Matt, of Bennington, Becky Murphy and her husband, David, of Parma, Ohio, Kate Palmer of Bennington, Jamie Blanchard and his wife, Cathleen, of Arlington, Matthew Blanchard of Bennington and Lucas Tarquino of New Jersey; five great-grandchildren, Tucker and Brady Beaudoin of Bennington, Evan and Collin Murphy of Parma, Ohio, and Laura Warren of Rutland; a brother, Edward Keith and his wife, Josephine, of Pittsford, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, James Keith. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer, and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Eileen T. Palmer may be made to either the VNA and Hospice at the Southwestern Vermont Health Care or the Council on Aging through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
