1933 - 2014 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. Eilleen Rifenburgh, 81, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Eilleen was born in Woodford, Vt. on June 30, 1933 the daughter of Ralph E. and Dora Emaline (Stratton) Rifenburgh and attended local schools. Eilleen worked for Thompson Manufacturing, owned and operated a pet store in Hoosick Falls and was an equestrian trainer, training and racing horses at Green Mountain Race Track. The family has entrusted arrangements to the care of Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont. Affectionately known as Mom, she ran an arcade in Bennington so that the local children had a place to go and play. She enjoyed painting, loved her horses and dogs and lived a long and full life. Eilleen is survived by her sons, Leo G. Rifenburgh, Jr. of Hoosick Falls, Bryan Rifenburgh of Hoosick Falls and Daniel Rifenburgh and his wife, Dawn of Bennington, brothers, Ralph Bahan, Jr. of Pittstown, N.Y., Robert Bahan of Albany, N.Y. and Gene Bahan of Tomhanok, N.Y., sisters, Joan Pickeral of Troy and Patricia Norton of Pittstown, N.Y. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo G. Rifenburgh, Sr. whom she married in Pittstown, N.Y. on Oct. 15, 1953. Mr. Rifenburgh died Nov. 27, 1998. FUNERAL NOITCE: Funeral services for Eilleen will be held Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont.
