Elaine Therriault 1951 - 2001 BENNNINGTON Elaine Morris Therriault, 59, of Coolidge Avenue died peacefully at her home on Friday morning, June 10, 2011, following a brief illness. Elaine was born in Hempstead, N.Y., on Oct. 13, 1951, daughter of James E. and Joan L. Johnson Morris. She grew up on Long Island, where she attended schools in Port Jefferson and Medford. Elaine was a licensed practical nurse and had practiced in Florida for many years. Very active with children, Elaine was a board member of The Sunrise Family Resource Center, an assistant with the Girl Scouts and enjoyed helping out at her children's school events and activities. She especially enjoyed taking her children on hikes and teaching them about nature and all it has to offer. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, taking photos, exploring family genealogy, baking and riding her Harley. She was an avid gardener and when she wasn't able to be outside, she loved to bake, especially for others. She was a member of the Moose Family Center and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she worked as a volunteer. Elaine leaves her mother, Joan Morris of Riverhead, N.Y.; children, Daisie and Skyler Therriault of Bennington, and Michael Bashauer of South Carolina; brother, James E. Morris, and sister, Doris J. Morris of Riverhead, She was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Bashauer Lashley, who died Oct. 10, 2010. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Elaine will be Thursday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at the HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the family lot in North Pownal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be present.
