Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Eleanor A. Lohnes, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation. She lived at the Village at Fillmore Pond in Bennington. Her husband James Lohnes died Nov. 11, 2003.

Eleanor was born Dec. 5, 1915 in Hoosick, N.Y., daughter of the late Harry E. and Alice L. (Webster) Cipperly. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School and was a homemaker all her life. Eleanor was a member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Hoosick, and was a member of the women’s group at the church.

Survivors include four sisters, Helen Cloke of Schenectady, N.Y., Doris Kipp and Vera Griswold, both of Hoosick and Betty Kipp of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; four brothers, Robert Cipperly of Eagle Mills, N.Y., William and Waldo Cipperly, both of Hoosick, and Frank Cipperly of Hoosick Falls; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Eleanor is predeceased by two sisters, Blanch Cipperly and Ethel Sherin; also three brothers, George, Dean and Paul Cipperly.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. from All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Hoosick. Burial will follow at Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to either All Saint’s Episcopal Church or the Hoosick Rural Cemetery through the funeral home.
