Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Eleanor C. Harvey were held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, associate pastor.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the Mass were “O God, Our Help In Ages Past,” “We Walk By Faith,” “I Am The Bread Of Life” and “Song Of Farewell.”

The funeral pall that draped Mrs. Harvey’s casket during the service was placed by her sons, John J. and Thomas E. Harvey. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by her two daughters, Rosemary E. Harvey and Eleanor H. Barnes. The offertory gifts were presented by four grandchildren, Katherine K. and Carolyn C. Harvey and Leslie C. and Edward K. Barnes. Acolytes were John Reed, Leonard Anzivino and Edward Molloy.

Bearers were William Hurley, Lawrence Shutts, Alexander and John Mahar, John Gorman and Kenneth Smith.

Honorary bearers from the Catholic Daughters Court of Saint Andrew, of which Eleanor was a charter member, were Catherine and Mary Frances Murphy, Louise Gauthier, Gerry Sausville, Rita McCann and Anna Becker.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Following the Mass a reception was held at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales parish center.

Mrs. Eleanor C. Harvey, 98, a longtime resident of Gage Street, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
