Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Mrs. Eleanor Nagle, 77, a resident of Manchester since 1991, formerly of Brookhaven, N.Y., died at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Monday night, Dec. 20, 2004, following an illness.

She was born in New York City on Aug. 5, 1927, the daughter of Hollis and Frances Johnson. She attended New York schools and graduated from high school.

She was married to Robert Nagle in 1956 in New York. The Nagles raised a family in Brookhaven, Long Island, N.Y. They belonged to St. James Church in Brookhaven and the Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. For many years, Eleanor operated her own business called “Pillow Talk.” She designed and sold upscale pillows with fabrics she imported from all over the world. Decorators from the New York metropolitan area and abroad sought her beautiful designs. In her free time, she enjoyed her flower and shrub gardens, cooking and decorating. She loved to go on outings to yard sales and antique shops. Eleanor was always very social. She loved people and they loved her. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her kind and caring ways.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Douglas Nagle of Bangor, Maine and Steven Nagle of Brookhaven; her daughters, Barbara Greco of Patchogue, N.Y., Laraine Acevedo of Puerto Rico and Arlene Krauss of Oswego, N.Y.; also 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are private. Mrs. Nagle’s cremated remains will be committed to the earth in the Zion Church memorial garden in the springtime. For those who wish, memorial gifts may be made in her memory to either the Manchester Rescue Squad or Bennington Health & Rehab, care of Brewster Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester, VT 05255
