FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Eleanore E. Bourgeois Cahill, 79, died Oct. 19, 2003 in Ft. Myers after a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1924 in Bennington, Vt., the daughter of Wilfred and Elise Bourgeois.

She graduated from Benhi in 1943 and graduated from Fanny Allen School of Nursing, member of U.S. Cadet Nurses Corp. She loved travel, painting and spending time with her family. She was one of 12 children.

She was the wife of John Cahill for 52 years.

Survivors are children John, Bonita of Carbondale, Colo., Madeline “Spring”, Robert Green of Lake Zurich, David, Andrea of Celinas, Ohio, Peter, Patricia of New Castle, Colo.; sisters and brothers: Cecile Short, Rachael Kinney, Doris Bourgeois, Joseph Wilfred Bourgeois, Joan Dorman, Marie Langevin, Donald Bourgeois and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, sisters Helen Lampron, Claire Smith, Yvonne Burnet, and brother Roosevelt Edward Bourgeois.

Funeral mass will be from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 27551 Volo Village Road, Volo, Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m., with prayers starting at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Family and friends may call at the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084, Friday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
