Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Elisabeth “Lilo” Liehr were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Julien LaFlamme.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the service were “Amazing Grace,” “In the Garden,” “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “On Eagles’ Wings.” The funeral pall that draped the casket during the funeral mass was placed by Steven Senecal and Cindy Levitte. A wooden cross was the placed on the casket by Earl Senecal. The scriptural readings were offered by Joseph Anton and Leonard Anzivino. The offertory gifts were presented by Earl Senecal and Cindy Levitte. Acolytes serving the Mass were Ed Molloy, Gerald Amadon, Leonard Anzivino and Joe Anton.

Bearers were Sam Levitte, Brad Andrews, Leonard Kipp, Tom Woods, Ted Briggs and Duane Sanville.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass.

Wednesday evening Father LaFlamme offered the vigil service at the funeral home.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father LaFlamme offering the committal prayers.

Mrs. Elisabeth “Lilo” Liehr, 83, a resident of Russett Drive, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. in Bennington.
