EAGLE BRIDGE, N.Y. -- Elizabeth Jean Leggue, 77, of Browns Knoll Lane, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Aug.13, 2006 after a long, difficult battle with cancer.

Born Dec. 14, 1928 in Ogdensburg, Jean was the daughter of Nelson C. and Bernice Christy Thompson. She graduated from Norfolk High School. She worked at Ogdensburg State Hospital from 1947 to 1952. On Sept. 13, 1951, Jean was united in marriage to Earl F. Leggue. Earl died Nov. 6, 1992.

Jean worked as a cook at Potsdam State College from 1969 until her retirement in 1981.

She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books, reading, and television. She loved working in her flower gardens and taking care of her home.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Leggue of Columbus, Ohio, Nelson P. Leggue, of Eagle Bridge, and Lynn Leggue, of Homestead, Fla.; two daughters, Bernice Morton, of Whiting, N.J. and Sara Raistrick, of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Barbara Williamson, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At Jean’s request there will be services.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Albany, NY 12211.
