Elizabeth Kennedy

1918 - 2013 BENNINGTON Elizabeth M. Kennedy, 94, a former resident of Park Street, Cambridge, N.Y., died Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

She was born in Bennington on July 28, 1918, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (McGuire) Myers. She received her education in Shaftsbury and in Bennington, and was a graduate of St. Joseph's Business College.

From 1965 to 1979, Elizabeth was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone in Ridgewood, N.J. In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy moved to Cambridge, N.Y., where they purchased the Blue Willow Motel which they sold in 1984 and retired

She enjoyed reading. Her home and family were her main interests.

Her husband, Alvin (Al) Kennedy, whom she married April 2, 1945, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington, died May 10, 2004.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jan Kennedy of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Keith McParland of Shady Valley, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Andrew and Peter Kennedy, Dawn Civello and her husband, Lou, and James McParland and his wife, Melissa; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Gavin and Brianna McParland and Louis and Jacob Civello, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elizabeth was predeceased by four brothers.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Mass and celebration of her life will be held in June at a time to be announced.
