Elizabeth Charlotte Hinck Loomis 1914-2011 Elizabeth Charlotte Hinck Loomis completed her journey and mission on earth August 3, 2011. She peacefully closed her eyes while surrounded by family and loving caregivers at her home in Sandy, Utah. Lee was blessed to have lived almost 97 years with extremely good health that gave her the ability to live life to its fullest while serving others. "Lee" was born on October 2, 1914 to Claus Frederick Hinck and Luise Hofmeister Hinck in Montclair, New Jersey. Lee graduated with her Registered Nursing degree from Lenox Hill Nursing School in New York City in 1938. She married David G. Loomis, on December 23, 1938 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Together she and David raised four children in Delaware and New Jersey and then retired and moved to Vermont. While in Vermont Lee volunteered for many organizations including, Arlington Garden Club, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and Hildene. They were active Quakers and were members of Bennington Meeting. In 2006 Lee moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to be close to her son Dick and his family. She was living at Sunrise Assisted Living in Sandy at the time of her passing. Lee is survived by her children: Elizabeth C. Loomis, Santa Barbara, Calif.; Richard C. Loomis (Connie) Sandy, Ut.; Amy L. Verner (Robin) Manchester, Vt.; Margaret A. Morgan (Jeff) Montville, N.J., 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Interment services will be held October 22 in South Bristol, Maine. In lieu of flowers the family would suggest that a contribution be made to the American Friends Service Committee at afsc.org or to the Salt Lake Quaker Meeting (71 East 4800 South, Murray, Utah 84107).
