Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Elizabeth Mae Brimmer, 93, a lifelong resident of Bennington, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation. Elizabeth was born in Bennington on June 20, 1914, the daughter of Clarence and Lena (Silver) Morse and attended Bennington schools.

Elizabeth worked as a seamstress for many years for Tompson Mill, Alan A. Company and E-Z Mills. In her earlier years, Elizabeth was a former Auxiliary member of VFW Post 1332, Bennington, The American Legion Post 13, Bennington, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1861, Bennington. She enjoyed stock car racing in the 1950s, shopping at tag sales and old country music.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Denny L. Young and his wife Donna of Bennington; three grandchildren, Denny M. Young, Denise Young Huether and Noel Volpi all of Shaftsbury, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Marshall G. Young who died in 1968, her brothers, Charles, William and Ralph Morse; and her sisters, Lucille Morse during infancy and Hazel Reed.

Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held Wednesday afternoon Nov. 7, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington. The Rev. Deborah Estey of the First United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday evening, Nov. 6, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
