Elizabeth McCart 1917 - 2009 WHITE CREEK, N.Y. Betty (Elizabeth) McCart, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, July 13, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Betty, born in 1917 at the family farm in Eagle Bridge, was the daughter of Forest and Molly Brown Moses, and elder sister to Jerry and Carl Moses. She was blessed with a rich heritage of hard work, simple satisfaction, and love of God's creatures. She lived on Content Farms as a child and attended local schools in Coila. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1937. In 1939, she married James A. McCart and moved to White Creek where they operated the family farm for many years and raised five children, Linda, Brenda, Bruce, Jack and Keith. Betty enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, painting and, in late years, attending church at Green Mountain Christian Center, Bennington, Vt. Her husband of 54 years, James, died Jan. 2, 1994. She was also predeceased by her brother, Jerry, and by two of her children, Brenda White and Jack McCart, and by a son-in-law, Richard White. She leaves a daughter, Linda Hailstone and her husband, Steve, of Vancouver British Columbia; her sons, Bruce and his wife, Faye, and Keith and his wife Janet McCart of White Creek; her brother, Carl Moses and his wife Shirley of Eagle Bridge; a daughter-in-law, Jean McCart; nine grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Joe and Danny Hailstone, Annette (White) Baldic, Tim White, Vicki McCart, Jon McCart, Jeremy McCart, and 12 great -grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Friday, July 17, 2009, at 6 p.m. at the ACKLEY & ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, with Pastor John Goyette officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 6, prior to the funeral service. Interment will take place in the Center White Creek Cemetery.
