Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Sausville were held from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, with the Rev. Paul Cox, retired sacramental minister of St. Cecelia’s Church in Warrensburg, N.Y., officiating.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Mrs. Sausville’s daughter, Cheryl York. Hymns offered during the funeral service were “Here Am I O God,” “Rise Up With Him,” “I Am the Bread of Life” and “Panis Angelicus.”

The pall that draped Mrs. Sausville’s casket during the funeral Mass was placed by four daughters, Collette Tate, Sylvia Sausville, Roberta Devine and Celeste Edmundson. A wooden cross was placed on the casket by Anthony Sausville, a son. The scriptural readings were read by Mrs. Sausville’s sister, Juliette Wheeler and a nephew, Joseph Horton, and gospel reflections were given by Sister Linda Hogan, pastor of St. Cecelia’s Church. The prayer of the faithful was offered by Taylor Burke.

The offertory gifts were presented by four grandchildren, Jackson and Chelsea Albowicz and Celeste and Seth Geiser. The eulogy was given by Roberta Sausville and Cheryl York. Acolytes were a great-grandson, Zachary Harrison, and a granddaughter, Chrissy Germain, also Francis Sausville.

Bearers were five grandsons, Mark Burke, Stacey Albowicz, Tye Albowicz, Ian Sausville and Brandon Germain, also a son-in-law, Bud York. Honorary bearers from the St. Anne’s Society were Shirley Barnhardt, Doris Bourgeois, Alda Cole, Mary Lou Cox, Estelle Hoth and Rachael Kinney.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass.

Friday evening members of St. Anne’s Society led in the recitation of the Rosary at the funeral home.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Cox offering the committal prayers.

A reception at the Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales parish hall followed the funeral service.

Mrs. Sausville, widow of Robert Sausville, a longtime resident of Northside Drive, died Nov. 22, 2005, at the home of her daughter Cheryl in Warrensburg, N.Y.
