Obituary Condolences

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Elizabeth “Betty” Trainor, 91, of Roaring Creek Court, North Middleton Twp., and formerly of Bennington, Vt., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2004, at home.

Born May 15, 1913 in Oxford, Kans., she was a daughter of the late Rev. Ernest C. and Alida Mealy Lyman. She was the widow of Edward O. Trainor, whom she married in 1934 and who died in 1966.

Mrs. Trainor graduated from Troy Business College, Troy, N.Y. in 1933. She had been employed by the First Vermont Bank & Trust and Shultz Jewelers, both in Bennington. She resided most of her life in Bennington until she went to live with her son in 1983. She moved to Carlisle in 1992.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle.

Mrs. Trainor is survived by a son, Ty, with whom she resided; three grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle. The Rev. John L. Shellenberger will officiate. Private burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.
