Obituary Condolences

SUNDERLAND -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ellen M. Jennings was held Saturday morning, Jan. 15, 2005, at the East Arlington Federated Church.

The Rev. Bruce Lee-Clark, guest minister, conducted the service. Music was under the direction of organist Douglas Bischoff, who led the congregation in the singing of the hymns “In The Garden,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “How Great Thou Art” and the postlude hymn “For All The Saints.” The Rev. Lee-Clark offered the scripture readings, the meditation, the sending forth, and led the congregation in reciting Psalm 23 in unison. A family poem was recited by Ellen’s sister Barbara Benjamin. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed the service in Bailey Hall. Committal services were conducted in the family lot in Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland, where the Rev. Lee-Clark offered burial rites and committal prayers. Serving as urn bearer was Ellen’s grandson Steven Combs.

Ellen M. Jennings, of North Road in Sunderland, died Jan. 8, 2005 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel Route 7A, Arlington.
