Emily Mae Caron 1942 - 2010 BENNINGTON, VT Emily Mae Caron, 68, a resident of Overlea Road in Bennington died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Born in Woodford on Aug. 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Lucretia Gravel Smith. She received her education in the Bennington schools. Emily married Ronald A. Caron on April 5, 1968 in Bennington. For 22 years Emily had been employed at Thomson Manufacturing in Bennington and later at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury for 15 years until her retirement. Emily's main interest was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and trips to the casino. She leaves her husband, Ronald A. Caron of Bennington; her children, Joann Therrien and her husband, Raymond, of North Bennington, John Wayne Smith of Texas, Lisa Kosche and her husband, David, of Bennington, and Albert Ronald Caron, Jr., and his wife, Rhonda, of Pownal; her grandchildren, Joshua Therrien, Codie and Ezra Caron, Ashley and Elizabeth Kosche and Evan, Brandon and Shelby Smith; three great-grandchildren, Trace, Gabriel and Lily Ann Smith; two sisters, Mary Lewis and her husband, John, of Brooksville, Fla., and Linda Solomon of Tennessee; three brothers, Robert Smith and Barbara, Michael Smith and Patti and Charles Smith and Anna, all of Bennington; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Washington and Rose Collins; and four brothers, Joseph, Richard, Frederick and Francis Smith. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday August 24, 2010, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Michael Benoit officiating. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will take place in the family lot in Saint John's Cemetery in North Bennington, VT If friends desire, contributions in memory of Emily may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201
