Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Emma B. Mellor, 99, widow of Louis Wolff, a former resident of Silver Street, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 29, 1907, in Cypress Hills, Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Adelaide (Evart) Murray. She received her education in the Queens schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Wolff were married at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Queens. Mr. Wolff died Oct. 16, 1966. Mrs. Mellor was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose in River Head, Long Island, N.Y. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary in Bennington.

She enjoyed crafts and crocheting and she loved to sing and dance. Her home and family were her main interests.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in -law, Kathy and Tom Slee of Woodford Lake; a son, Louis Wolff, and Lori of White Creek, NY; five grandchildren, Thomas Slee, Michael Slee, Louis Wolff, Ron Olson and Julie Albert; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Mrs. Mellor was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.The wake service will be offered Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, at the convenience of the family.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Mrs. Mellor may be made to either the Bennington Rescue Squad or the Activites Fund at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.

All members of the VFW Post 1332 Auxillary are asked to meet at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday at 6 p.m. to conduct services in memory of Emma B. Mellor.
