BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Erich Strohschein were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Friday morning Aug. 8. Officiating was the Rev. Edwin Blue, pastor of the Missionary Alliance Church, and the Rev. Karl Sante, a son-in-law of Mr. Strohschein.

The congregation accompanied by organist Aura Strohschein joined in singing “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder,” “Faith of Our Fathers” and “It Is Well Within My Soul.” Mr. Strohschein’s children participated in the service offering scripture readings, personal reflections and the eulogy. A daughter Wilhelmine Sante offered the solo “You Cannot Lose My Love.” The hymn of meditation was “What A Day That Will Be” consisting of the quartet of organist Aura Strohschein, saxophonist Stephan Sante and flutists Carmen Miller and Sylvia Sante. Soloist Winnie Lidstone sang “Softly and Tenderly.” Serving as bearers were Cecil Miller, George Strohschein, Carl Strohschein, Stephan Sante, Benjamin Sante and Nathan Strohschein.

Burial took place in the Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Sante offering the committal prayers. The hymn “Amazing Grace” was played by flutists Carmen Miller, Aura Strohschein and Sylvia Sante. Should friends desire, memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Strohschein may be made to the Missionary Alliance Church in support of a Ukraine Orphanage in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P. O. Box 957, Bennington, VT 05201.

Mr. Strohschein, 78, died Sunday Aug. 3 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
