Ethel "Jean" Nacy Nichols

1930-2013 Ethel "Jean" Nacy Nichols, formerly of Bond Street in Manchester Center, passed away Monday November 25, 2013 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Ethel was born in Manchester on June 6, 1930 the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Towne) Nacy. She attended Manchester schools and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary. Ethel worked for the Fowler Insurance Agency, worked in the cafeteria at Manchester Elementary School and worked for Orvis for nearly twenty years. Ethel enjoyed her home and cherished times spent with her family. Ethel is survived by her children, Manchester Select Board member Steven Nichols of Manchester Center and Jeffrey Nichols and his wife Angie Loveland of Bennington, her grandson Jeffrey Kenneth Nichols of Central Falls, Rhode Island, niece Donna Bushee and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth J. Nichols whom she married June 12, 1954. Mr. Nichols passed away June 15, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary Lou Roberts, Catherine Goodell, Betty Merrow and Virginia Solari and her brother Leonard Nacy. Funeral notice: A celebration of the life of Ethel "Jean" Nacy Nichols will be held Friday November 29, 2013 at 10:30am at the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert. Interment will follow in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Ethel's memory may be made to the Manchester Firefighters Association or the Jean N. and Kenneth J.
