Ethel M. Poljacik

1926-2014 BENNINGTON Ethel M. Poljacik, 88, a resident of Village Lane died peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 4, 2014. The daughter of Morris and Lucy (Robinson) Holden she was born in Rutland on January 9, 1926. Ethel had worked for Ayrshire in Brandon and then The State of Vermont Department of Transportation, retiring after 30 years. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, traveling and spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. She leaves her daughter in law Colleen Sinnott of Kasilof, Alaska, brothers James Holden of Middlebury, Clarence Holden of Pittsford, David "Pete" Holden of Alaska, sisters Elsie Zakrzewski of Rutland, Carol Wu of Ludlow and Patricia Begnoche of Middlebury, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, John Poljacik Sr.; son, John Poljacik Jr.; and sister, Bertha Holden. Ethel will be buried next to her husband with a private family service in The Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
