Etta Katherine Perry 1940-2011 POWNAL Mrs. Etta Katherine Perry, 71, a resident of Sunflower Street, Pownal, died peacefully following a long illness on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in North Hoosick, N.Y., July 3, 1940 she was the daughter of the late William Edison and Theresa (Loker) Livingston. Etta received her education in North Bennington and graduated from the Bennington Tutorial Center in 1996. Etta was previously married to the late William Russell Sr. She married Kenneth Perry March 16, 1997 in Bennington. In earlier years Etta had been employed at various factories in the area. Her main interests were her family and especially her grandchildren, her husband whom she loved dearly, and her many friends. She enjoyed bingo, playing poker, painting, ceramics and crocheting. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Timothy Candib of North Bennington and Debbie and Jeff Miller of Pownal; three sons and their significant others, William Russell and Christine of Bennington, Scott Russell and Kristy of White Creek, N.Y., and Kevin Russell and Norma of Pownal; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Nancy and Phyllis Livingston of Bennington and Theresa Livingston of White Creek, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Etta was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Lee Russell and by five brothers, Francis, William, Ernie, Roger and Stanton Libingston. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Philip Garippa officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Committal services will be held at Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek, NY at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Etta Perry's memory may be made to either the Vermont , the Vermont or the through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05021.
